The Women’s Bureau was established in 1975 by the Board of Trustees of the Moors Islamic Cultural Home to look into the welfare of Muslim women in Sri Lanka. It functions as a service organization. In the 33 years of its existence, it has extended its services to needy women and children of the community.

The daily maintenance and the administration of the Girls’ Hostel at No. 7, Lilly Avenue is its main concern.
